Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that involves the removal of extra skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. NY Face Place utilizes the most state-of-the-art lasers and other technology to remove the puffy bags from under a person’s eyes and to fix droopy upper lids. Since this process begins in the 30s and 40s, tightening sagging lids and restoring the proper contour can make a person look younger as well as more alert and well-rested.
The procedure is performed using light sedation and a local anesthetic. The incision on the upper eyelids is made in the eyelid crease and should go away rapidly. By the second day after the surgery, swelling around the eyes will start to go down. It is normal to have blurred vision for a few days. Within two weeks, any swelling or bruising should be completely gone. Plan on taking the first week after surgery off from work.
